A Long Way To Go, But Progress Is Progress!

I wasn't going to mention this yet, we are way too early on in "the wait". But since it's one of my "obsessions", I will explain...

Our adoption agency does not publish a waiting list of the waiting families in the Ethiopia program. I guess mainly because there can be so many factors involved in placing a child with his or her forever family; it doesn't always go precisely in order. There are, however, 2 lists I am tracking. The forum on our agency's website is keeping a list of everyone who wants to participate. This is what I call the "Unofficial, Unofficial List". As of yesterday, we are 88 on that list (we started around 101). Connected to the UU list is an estimator, or what I call the "Unofficial Reality List". There are around 380 families in our agency's ET program, so this gives us more of an idea where we stand in the big picture. Currently, we are around #346.

So we wait, and we wait, and we wait. Last week was fabulous with referrals (29 total!). So here's to praying for the same this week!
